The usage of media free of proteins and other aminal originated components facilitates the marketing approval of recombinant biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic antibodies. The cell lines have to stem from recognised sources of well documented history. Glycotope Biotechnology is dealing with various cell lines (e.g. CHO, BHK, NSO) from well-known cell culture collections (ATCC, ECACC, DSMZ). These cells are adapted to the growth in a set of chemically defined media. Most of these media are free of animal components. Additionally, we can offer the transfection of DHFR deficient CHO cells for further amplification of the expression rate, if desired.
Additionally, based on the core technology of Glycotope GmbH, Berlin, we are able to express and purify pharmaceutical proteins and antibodies in human cell lines with optimized glycosylation patterns.
